Today is Saturday for the A team here in South Africa. We had a good and uneventful flight and a great ride with Francois, our transport service. Our ride to the FASA Lodge was filled with commentary about South African history and sightings of animals like giraffes, sable, baboons, impala etc… We enjoyed lunch at a local pizza place and arrived safely but tired of traveling at FASA Lodge.
It is so great to see God at work in this team. Our team is one of the first to have team members join us from another state. And although we connected through FaceTime, we never could meet all together for our pre trip meetings, but we have quickly become friends with lots of laughter and encouragement all around. For our first full day, we spent time together seeing some of the sights and getting to hear about what’s been happening with the FASA ministry here. We are all looking forward to getting to meet the South African young people who will be serving with us. Jody and Kathy are hosting a Braai (South African BBQ) tomorrow so we can all get acquainted and spend time with them. We can already see how God is at work in this community and in our lives as well.
Love to all our friends and family!
PS. We will have approximately 130 children for a day camp next week. These children come to five days of camp for FREE. Would you help us cover costs for these campers? (Transportation, food, activities and craft materials) If you would like to help, please visit our website at www.myfasa.org/donate and choose ‘Sponsor a Camper’ under Giving Types. A gift of any amount would be appreciated.
